The 12th annual will be held on:

  • Registration fee ($10 per person)
  • Each youth must have an adult sponsor (parent or guardian) in attendance
  • Food & beverages available thoughout the day

  • Free parking adjacent to club grounds (follow the signs)
  • Free Gifts: T-shirts and other promotional materials will be available to the first 400 registrants
  • Door prizes will be awarded through the generous support of local businesses, the NRA, and the Pleasant Valley Trout & Game Club
  • Participants can qualify for Grand Prizes valued at $100 each.
  • A great opportunity for the whole family to learn more about outdoor sporting activities where everyone can participate under the guidance of experienced sportsmen.
    At least 25 different activities to explore and enjoy.
    (All hands-on activities will be available throughout the day).

    Activities Include:

    • EXHIBITION SHOOTER DEMONSTRATIONS .
    • Firearm shooting, firearm safety workshops, & demonstrations (22s, air rifles, & shotguns) Action targets used for most events including clay birds. All firearms & ammunition will be provided by the Pleasant Valley Trout & Game Club. Proof of shooting experience required (Hunting license, NYS Hunter Safety Training Certificate or member of a shooting club). Novices will be required to attend one of the Firearm Safety Workshops before shooting.
    • Boy Scouts: Training of outdoor first-aid and compass usage as well as orienteering
    • Black powder history with shooting demonstrations; also hands-on shooting
    • Electronic shooting machine(computer generated) - used to learn proper gun handling and aiming techniques
    • Paintball shooting at bullseye targets and 3-D targets on trail walk. (Guns and ammunition are provided)
    • Scent tracking demonstrations & techniques with dogs
    • Game calling demonstrations and techniques (e.g., turkey, duck and deer calls)
    • Tree stand safety demonstration
    • Shotgun shell reloading
    • Archery demonstrations & shooting, plus equipment and safety instructions
    • Fishing instruction with demonstrations, and also hands-on trout fishing
    • Fly tying & fly casting demonstrations with hands-on learning
    • Animal & bird taxidermy displays & education
    • Dutchess County Federation of Sports Clubs, NRA, SCOPE, Boy Scout, & Pleasant Valley Trout & Game Club booths
    • Plus a new special surprise activity is being planned!

    • People in attendance (youth and adults) are welcome to participate in all activities
    • All donations are tax deductible. Receipt provided upon request.
